AVRCam Baud Rate

Postby osvaldl » Mon Feb 27, 2006 12:29 pm

Hello,

I'm Leslie from Hungary. I have recently received the camera from you,
thank you for it, it works perfectly. I'd like to ask a question about it. I
want to assign it to a BX-24 chip with ATOM BOT BOARD PRO card. I
have read that the chip communicates with 9600 baud meanwhile the
camere with 115 kbaud. Can I assign the two unit?
Finally I'd like to know wheter you have a program what makes
available the PAN/TILT mechanism with the camera?

Thanks for the answers!

Bye,

Leslie

While I don't have any experience playing with the ATOM, the AVRcam still requires a 115.2 kbps serial link. If the ATOM only provides a 9600 baud link, this won't be sufficient.

Regarding the pan/tilt operation: there are two i/o lines (one connected to the Yellow LED, and one connected to a header pin) that could potentially be used for controlling servo motors for pan/tilt operations. However, this is not supplied as part of the software as delivered. The software is all open-source, so feel free to dig in and make the additions. Keep us posted if you get it up and running.
